manufacturing Engineers 

Overview 

Provide valuable contributions to the research and development of our bionic technology. You would be in charge of developing new technologies for more effective and efficient manufacturing. We require our engineers to have expertise in sustainable design and biotech technologies.  Our manufacturing engineers develop and demonstrate prototype processes at the lab scale and optimization of production supply chains. Our manufacturing engineers provide expertise with product manufacturing environment, machine tool design, or advanced manufacturing research. Formulate and solve problems using simulation and analysis tools.  

Job Duties

Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

 Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests. Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

    1. Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.

Mechanical Design Engineers

Will assist in the research and acquisition of rapid prototyping capital equipment. Develop Solidworks models and convert file formats as needed to export to prototyping equipment. Train others on Rapid prototyping equipment. Assist in developing detailed manufacturing drawings from solid models. May be required to perform secondary operations on mechanical parts, i.e. deburring, polishing, etc. 

Job Duties

    •    Oversee entire product life cycle

    •    Work as a technical lead

    •    2D/3D modeling

    •    Guide design engineering staff in the generation of machine layout and 3D drawings

    •    Generation and interpretation mechanical design specifications and system requirement specifications.

    •    Participate on new product development teams.

Responsibilities

The development and design of small mechanisms. 

This is encompass stages from concept, modeling, verification, prototyping, and all engineer analysis.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Extremely collaborative environment, working with engineers & project managers on anywhere between 3 to 5 projects at a time. Work alongside the manufacturing department to ensure manufacturability through product launch.

Minimum 5 years product development experience in mechanical products. Injection molding manufacturing process experience highly preferred

Mechanical Engineers

Projects that mechanical engineers work on at Microtron Inc can vary significantly, from researching and developing medical products (such as mechanical hearts, bionic arms, and surgical robots), to improving equipment and developing new 3D printing methods and materials.

Across all sectors, Job Duties generally include:

    •    Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability;

Material Engineers

Our Material Engineers will participate in every aspect of our product development process that involves materials (Primary metals, polymers, and biomaterial composites). These types of projects include the evaluation and specification of materials and processes for new design; investigation of existing materials applications, failure analysis; and the development of repair Page recommendations. Applications include structural components and industrial and commercial products. Our material engineers will be expected to manage tasks, communicate with clients, prepare written reports and presentations, and conduct laboratory and field studies.

Plastic Injection Mold Engineer

Will act as a key project manager for new part development for injection molding and secondary processes or equipment installations and area expansion. Regularly leading technical meetings, presentations, etc. Perform deep analysis of part problems and implementing countermeasures to ensure a successful product and launch. Investigate new technology and processes related to injection molding processes and secondary processes.

Job Duties

Perform financial and/or statistical analysis to decide among possible engineering options.

Identify, quantifying and leading engineering or system improvement projects that have a significant impact.

Develop 3D CAD (must be fluent in SolidWorks and Inventor) developing tools, jigs, fixtures for new products or other misc projects.

Roboticist 

Our robotics engineers will spend the majority of their time designing the plans needed to build bionic technology. They will design the processes necessary for the prosthetics to run correctly. They are also responsible for designing the machines that actually assemble the prosthetics. Our Roboticist’s are tasked with integrating the technology onto robots for assembly applications and developing the operating program. In Addition, they are tasked with managing and directing the assembly line. The building process will take a great deal of time. Robotic technology is highly technical and difficult to create, and the task can be very tricky. 

Job Duties 

    •    Building, configuring, and testing bionic technology.

    •    Designing software systems to control robotic systems.

    •    Designing automated robotic systems.

    •    Analyzing and evaluating the prototypes and robotic systems created. (This is generally a never-ending task, since our technology will constantly change and advance)

    •    Reviewing and approving cost estimates and design calculations.

    •    Serving as technical support for the robotic bionic technology    

   •    Teaching control steering the legs and automatic recall to the BCI.

    •    Performing research into the design, operation and performance of robotic mechanism components and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for new robotic process implementation and current production process improvement / optimization.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and cost reduction activities in bionics. 
  • Takes the lead and supports others in problem solving; equipment, products and processes.

Robotics engineers typically equally share their time between a lab and their office. Time in the lab is spent working on small mechanical parts that are components of our Bionic Technology. The time in their office is spent working on plans and writing papers.
